Everything Rides on Faith

I turned on the TV to Gospel Music Channel first thing this morning to listen to some music while feeding my daughter. Little did I expect for my heavenly father to feed me. I heard a song for the very first time and it spoke so clearly to me that I just had to share it here. The song is "Hope Now" by Addison Road. Here are the lyrics:

WOW!! How wonderful is it to think that we have been carried by Jesus our whole life. I became a believer in Christ when I was 8, but not a follower until about 3 years ago. (I know that there are several people in this world who can relate!) I feel some manner of comfort in knowing that Jesus carried me all during that time, even though I was not following Him.

Now that I am actively seeking Him and trying my hardest to follow Him, I have found something unexpected - freedom. Most people think that when you are a follower of Christ, you are not free to do what you want, but they couldn't be further from the truth. When you are a follower of Christ, and not just a believer, you are free to do what you want because all you want to do is His Will!!!! He will become your heart's desire and everything will come down to the love that you have for Him and the love that He has for you. Even typing this, I had to chuckle because I don't sound like myself. But isn't that the point of this life? To not be yourself, but to be what Jesus would have you to be?

Just like this song says, everything rides on faith now and don't I know it! I am currently having to live in the biggest faith exercise of my life. But, I know that through Faith in Jesus, He will carry me and I will not be on my own. He is my hearts desire and is all that I need to survive this storm.

Heavenly Father - Thank you for the breakfast this morning. I so appreciate when You take the time to speak to me so clearly. I thank You for your love and for the freedom that You provide. Please help me to remember that You love me and will carry me through to the end of this time. I will have faith in You! Amen.
